El periodista i escriptor australià Mark Mordue porta anys i panys treballant en la biografia "definitiva" de Nick Cave. Com alguns sabreu, la publicació del llibre ha estat anunciada diverses vegades amb el títol de "Tender Prey" però mai ha arribat a veure la llum. Doncs bé, el propi Mordue acaba de confirmar que a finals d'any sortirà a la venda el primer volum de la biografia titulat "Boy On Fire: The Young Nick Cave". En paraules de l'autor:
"It covers Nick’s upbringing in country Victoria, traveling with him and his family through the landscapes of Warracknabeal, where he was born, and Wangaratta, where so many of his songs found their dreaming source in his boyhood. It moves, then, to Melbourne and his school days and the formation of a teenage band that became The Boys Next Door. The book expands to deal with Nick’s art school experiences and his early ambitions to be a painter, exploring the lives of his fellow band members Mick Harvey, Rowland S Howard, Tracey Pew and Phill Calvert. And, of course, the scene that gathered around them at the Crystal Ballroom and adventured on through the streets of St Kilda.
It culminates in the moment of The Boys Next Door’s departure from Australia. And stops right there.
